Rule # 8 of Jakob Nielsen's good interface design: Aesthetic and minimalist design.
This is our most common hurdle when working with law firms.
Lawyers often (rightfully) feel the need to explain everything to their clients. While this makes sense from a legal perspective, it often doesn’t work with how users navigate the internet.
Every extra unit of information in an interface competes with the relevant units of information and diminishes their relative visibility.
Or to simplify: “If Everything is important, nothing is important.”
